ESA, the European Space Agency, is planning on 19th and 20th of November a workshop which brings together European experts in aerospace engineering. The goal is giving an overview of the state of art about pyroshock tests and to provide a common platform for discussion and exchange.
Also the technicians of our laboratories in Scarmagno, active in this type of tests, have been invited. The pyroshock, widely used in the aerospace industry, are tests that, through strong mechanical stresses placed on a very short span of time, experience the dynamic response of optical, electronic and mechanical stress that reproduce the stresses due to the small charges used to disengage the various stages in orbit of the satellites.
The laboratories of Scarmagno, where it is possible to subject a long series of products to other types of tests such as those of acoustic, electrical safety, mechanical safety, EMC, environmental testing, vibration and packaging testing, are among the very few laboratories in Europe to which the ESA entrust these sophisticated tests: this confirms the ability of our technicians in this pioneering field. Our expert Christian Mondino will partecipate in this workshop. If you're interested in the subject, you can send an e-mail to him: firstname.lastname@example.org
